David & Valerie Clark

David and I would like to participate in "Misa del Presidente" because we were both born in S.B. in 1955 at Cottage Hospital.

We met in school at La Cumbre Jr High.  We both graduated from SBHS, class of 1973.

One night in 1987, we were both at Pepper's Disco Night Club in SB, which is now Paseo Nuevo on Canon Perdido St.  I was with my girlfriends and my older sister Linda, and David was with his guy friends.  He bought me a drink and later walked me to my car.  We exchanged phone numbers.  On our first date he  picked me up in a limousine, had a dozen roses and a bottle of champagne.  We went to the España restaurant which is now El Torito, on the beach.  Later we went back to his apartment and looked through our high school yearbook.

Coincicentally, we go married in a disco night club on a cruise ship named the "Star Dancer" in San Pedro, CA on February 20, 1988, two days before David's birthday.  In March, 1988, we had a wedding reception in SB at Lempisis restaurant, which is now Stella Mare's on McCaw Ave.  We had approximately 500 guests.

On October 5, 1991, our son Vincent was born.  On January 21, 2011 we were blessed with our first grand daughter , Miya Sophia.

For my birthday, at the request of our son Vincent, in August 2004, we renewed our vows in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay.  Vincent was the best man.

Our story is like the Tom Cruise movie "Cocktail."  We are previous owners of the Cliff Room Cocktail Sports Bar in SB from 1987-2014.

Unfortunately, our home burned down last year and all our wedding pictures were destroyed.
