Ruth and I met while attending Bishop Diego High School in 1971.  After graduation we dated for a few years, but went our separate ways for about 10 years.

About 10 years later Ruth was working as a waitress at a local restaurant.  Peter would have breakfast at this restaurant every Monday morning with a group of gentlemen from the local Kiwanis Club of Santa Barbara.  Peter would leave Ruth a tip.  She mentioned once she had $100 she would take him to the Talk of the Town Restaurant.

On her last day of work she announced she had $90.00 saved, so Peter left her a $10.00 tip for a cup of coffee.

We went to dinner at the Talk of the Town and started dating once again.

Married in October 1985, Peter served as El Presidente of Old Spanish Days in 1990 at the age of 35.  Ruth and Peter had a son Bryan born in November 1989, he was eight months old during Fiesta 1990.

Daughter Melissa was born in May of 1992.

Peter and Ruth will celebrate 30 years of marriage on October 19, 2015.
